Dylan Fraser: My name is Dylan Fraser, I’m 19 and I’m from Scotland.

What first sparked your interest in music and what has your musical journey looked like so far? I’ve been interested in music since I was 3 years old and I reckon it’s because my parents always played music growing up and I used to sing along in the car. It’s been a long journey for sure. I dropped out of school at 15, went to college for a year to study music & then dropped out and started my own social media company which helped me fund my music before I signed. Was there a specific point where you realized that music was something you wanted to pursue as a career? At what point did you realize that was possible? It sounds cliché but I was genuinely like 3 years old. I’ve just always had this gut feeling and always known. What do you think you’d be doing if you weren’t pursuing music? I’d probably be a director or a photographer.  Your song Vipers was featured in the latest FIFA game! How does that feel? CRAZY!!!!!!! I remember I got told Vipers had a sync but I hadn’t been told what it was for yet and I texted my friend like “imagine it’s FIFA hahaha” never expecting in a million years that it would be and well…. It was?!! It’s so exciting because FIFA always has the best soundtrack. I remember first hearing “Kids” by MGMT on FIFA back in the day. Did you get a free copy of the game? Kids by MGMT is such an anthem. I love that the FIFA Soundtrack is so important to the experience of the game. Yeah, they sent me a free copy! Talk to us about your latest release The Storm - are you excited to finally be able to share it with the world?

Beyond excited. I’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to release this. The track “The Storm” was the first song I wrote for the EP so I feel like this song really defined the sound and direction of the EP. Is there a track off the EP that you’re most excited for people to hear? I’m excited for people to hear all of it. I’m just happy people can listen to it as a full project now that it’s out. What were the main influences behind the EP? SOOOOOOOO MANY but I’d say Lorde, Radiohead & Kanye. What is the most important thing for you when it comes to creating a song? That it’s real. I can’t write about just anything. I’d say for the most part my songwriting is very literal and usually about a conversation or experience I’ve had. I just love that you can take ideas and exaggerate them into something bigger. I know that it looks like it may be some time before artists will be touring again, but what would your ideal tour look like?

I’m still figuring it out. I really like it when shows are mysterious and conceptual so I’m playing around with some stuff. What does “success” look like to you as far as music goes?

I ask myself this question every day. We are told that success is how popular your music is, how many albums you sell, how many big rooms you can sell on tour, but is that success? I don’t know I’m still figuring that one out. It’s a battle. What can we expect to see/hear from you in the near future? Maybe some… new music?! Do you have anything else that you want our readers to know? Cucumbers are absolutely disgusting, how could you ever?
